You can see Android 10 running on a Xuan Tie C901 board with a RISC-V architecture CPU . The board was developed by Alibaba Group's T-Head Semiconductor, which was demonstrating an Android OS running on a prototype board earlier this year. In this post, Sipeed states that in 2022 there will be smartphones with RISC-V architecture CPUs .

Chinese companies have a keen interest in RISC-V architecture. The Arm architecture is heavily tied to foreign patents and rights, and political factors can suddenly make it unusable one day, just as Huawei was hit hard by sanctions. RISC-V, on the other hand, has an open architecture and is attractive to Chinese companies that want to reduce their dependence on the West .
