Samsung Electronics held an event titled "Galaxy Unpacked 2015" in New York on the 13th (local time). Among them, two products, "Galaxy Note5" and "Galaxy S6 edge+" were announced.

Both are equipped with a 5.7-inch organic EL display "Quad HD Super AMOLED" with WQHD resolution (1440 x 2560 dots). Like the Galaxy S6, the Galaxy S6 edge+ is equipped with a “Dual edge screen” with curved sides.

The two models have many things in common in terms of specifications, but the familiar S pen can only be used with Galaxy Note5. It would be natural to think of the Galaxy S6 edge+ as the Galaxy S6 edge with a larger screen.

As with the Galaxy S6, the CPU adopts a 64-bit octa-core CPU manufactured with the latest 14nm process (2.1GHz + 1.5GHz). The main memory is finally equipped with 4GB (LPDDR4) even in the Galaxy series. The storage has a built-in 32GB or 64GB that supports UFS 2.0 with high-speed random access.
The camera has 16 megapixels (5 mega for the in-camera) and is equipped with a bright lens with an F value of 1.9. Double-clicking the home button launches the camera within a second. It also has a fingerprint sensor and a heart rate monitor. Samsung Pay service will also start in South Korea and the United States.
There are four colors: White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum, and Silver Titanium. It will be released overseas as early as August, but the Japanese market is not mentioned in the release. We'll have to wait for announcements from major carriers, but hopefully we'll see both releases.
