Open "Network and Internet" from "Settings" and click "Ethernet" for a wired LAN connection.Click on the network you are connected to
Differences in survey request network types (private / public)
There are two types of network settings: private and public. If both are set appropriately, the terminal can connect to the Internet. The difference is the firewall settings. "Private" allows you to search your PC from other PCs in the same network and share files and printers. Depending on the OS, remote control is also possible by remote desktop connection.
Can be changed to "Public" or "Private" in "Network Profile"
However, in the case of a "public" network, the PC cannot be detected even if it is connected to the same network. Of course, file sharing and remote desktop connection will not be possible.
The same applies to Wi-Fi connection
This is a function that is prepared so that you can easily switch the appropriate security settings depending on the usage environment. Set it to "public" when connecting to free Wi-Fi on the go, and "private" when connecting to a secure network such as your home or office. By default, it will be connected to the public, so there is no problem if you use it normally.
Be careful when setting "private" on the go when you want to open a port or use the remote desktop function. It's a good idea to switch back to the "public" setting when you're done.
Checking and changing network types is hard to find. Open "Network and Internet" from "Settings" and click "Ethernet" for a wired LAN connection or "Wi-Fi" for a wireless LAN connection. Since the network connected there is displayed, click further. The setting screen opens, and you can change it to "Public" or "Private" in "Network Profile".
This is a quick solution!
Public and private networks have different security settings. The initial setting is public, and if you use file sharing at the office or at home, you can change it to private.
The Windows 10 Detectives will be updated weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays. looking forward to!
