Huawei Japan announced a software update for the smartwatch "HUAWEI WATCH 3" on October 28th. It will start sequentially from the end of October, and it is expected that all users will be notified of the update in about a month through the HUAWEI Health app.
In this update, a hand washing detection function and a 5-minute free trial have been added to paid dials. WAV, FLAC, AMR, OGG, M4A, OPUS, and IMY are also supported for importable music formats that were previously only possible with MP3/AAC.
You can also use the function to display the charging dial when charging, and it can be disabled by pressing the crown of the watch. When connected to an Android smartphone, you can use the function to reply to SMS messages, and Petal Maps can be added as a pre-installed map app.
To update, operate the HUAWEI Health app (displayed as "HUAWEI Health app" or "Health care app" depending on the type of smartphone) → device → target device → firmware update. The update is performed when the battery level of the smart watch is at least 45%, and it is recommended to use a Wi-Fi network.
