The Yosakoi Festival is a festival held in Kochi City, Kochi Prefecture in early August. Many people have probably heard of it even if they have never actually seen it.
The Yosakoi Festival has undergone a unique change in Ghana and has become something else. Just like the Yosakoi Festival, they hold a clapper in their hands and dance while clattering, and their costumes seem to be similar to those of the Yosakoi Festival, but the Ghanaian song is quite uptempo.
Is it used in the same way as the Yosakoi festival to ward off birds that are hunting crops, or is it just used as a musical instrument?
